Wednesday Oct 4th 6pm at Waterways Ireland

Patricia Kelly Exhibition Wednesday Oct 4th 6pm at Waterways Ireland Exhibition continues to Oct 31st 2017

A prolific artist and Art and Design teacher from St Marys, Brollagh, Belleek, Patricia Kelly graduated with a B.A.Hons. degree in Textile and Embroidery from the University of Ulster. In this exhibition of embroidered textile landscapes, she reproduces atmospheric scenes in Fermanagh, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal near her border home. They portray dramatic rain-filled skies, heather-clad horizons and scarlet sunsets. The collaged fabrics make use of precious, recycled family clothes heavily overstitched with cotton thread. This enhances both the texture and the colour of these beautifully executed works.
